Uncle Kurt & Baby Raccoons

2 Things that are totally unrelated to each other:

1) Please pray for family of our Great Uncle Kurt Bickel. He was in his 80's & passed away last week. A great witness to the Lord. I, of course, did not know him very well. But that is what I remember about him from seeing him 2 years ago at the Bickel Reunion. Another memory I have of him there is when he sang, "The Lamb". He sang it w/ such emotion & faith. Brought many to tears...

2) Definitely not important but funny. Our dog Levi led us to find a mother raccoon & 5 baby raccoons hanging out in our chimney. We smoked the mother raccoon out (she booked it!) & Varment Guard had to come & get the 5 little babies out. They were probably only about a week ago the exterminator said-no eyes opened & barely able to move! You'd think they'd be cute as little ones, but I did not see any cuteness about them except their exceptionally small size (about 2-3 mice put together). I did take pictures but this is not one of them, but an example of what they looked like from the internet (except this one says it's 1 day old...but maybe the ones we found were!):

okay yes, those two thoughts could not be any more unrelated. Sorry to hear about Luke's great uncle Kurt - sounds like he led a very happy and fulfilled life.

As for the raccoons - i can only say i can related to the experience of finding non-human families in your chimney. However, having said that, I guess it is better than finding a human family in your chimney. I do NOT like raccoons. never have. this picture is not cute.
